Throw it all in!

I’m a third generation market gardener and the gardening gene/DNA can probably be traced to the beginning of my ancestors. I’m part of 3 gardening Facebook groups and sometimes the simplest questions have me stumped. When I garden I’m on auto pilot, my motto is “I know, therefore I do”. I don’t really think about what I’m doing or why I’m doing it, I just know. Being part of the Facebook groups has made me realized that this year I want to document and think about what I’m doing. When selling plants I want to be able to more confidently give information. Instead of relying on researching information I want to have first hand experience. My goal this year to be more mindful, write things down, and observe.

I wrote the above paragraph before everything went nutso at the garden. Cutworms, frost, drought, and flea beetles. Luckily I have most of my tomatoes marked and the peppers are easily identifiable when they start setting fruit. The only thing I’m a little ticked about is I didn’t mark my basil’s. I wanted to see first hand difference between genovese and sweet basil. All well there is always next year. Sometimes nature throws curve balls and you just got to go with it.
